The most romantic things to do in Paris

  • Breakfast in bed

If you are staying in a hotel, email the concierge service before your arrival and ask them to arrange a really nice breakfast for your first morning in Paris. Most of the hotels in Paris are used to romantic trips and honeymoons, so for them is easy to set up a breakfast in bed for you two. Extra points if you manage to have French Champagne for breakfast and some flowers. The most romantic things to do in Paris are not only about the city but how you two discover and enjoy the city together.

Our list of romantic things to do in Paris is not only about places, but experiences you can have in this amazing city.

  • Love in Montmartre and the Sacre Coeur

This charming neighborhood has a lot of history, tiny alleys and an artistic vibe that is perfect for holding hands walk. At the Place du Tertre there are many painters and artists, stop by one of them and have your lovely moment captured on canvas or in a funny caricature. There you can also find some of the best ice creams in the city.

If you are at the Montmartre by the end of the afternoon, stop by one of the shops and buy a bottle of wine. Sit in the garden in front of the Sacre Coeur Basilica and wait for the sunset. That’s the perfect spot to admire the sunset over Paris, watch some artistic performances and celebrate your love while sipping wine.

  • Dinner at the Eiffel Tower

Talking about dinner and romantic things to do in Paris, an evening at the Eiffel Tower is a must for any couple visiting the City of Lights. The tower is one of the top attractions in Paris, you can visit it during the day and stay for a nice dinner. Don’t forget that you need to book a table in advance. Or if you want to have the most romantic evening ever without the hassle of organizing everything by your own, book a tour and just show up for your dinner at the stars.

  • Le mur des Je t’aime – the wall of I Love You

Show your love in front of many other travelers. One of the romantic things to do in Paris is to visit the wall of I love You, or if you fancy something more French and more romantic le mur des Je t’aime. There you will find in every language how to say “I love you”. Try your best and read it to your partner, I’m sure his or her heart will melt.

  • Romantic Movie Session

No, I’m not telling you to go on a super busy cinema to watch the latest blockbuster. That would be the least romantic thing to do in Paris! My suggestion is to go on a movie date in a vintage movie theater, Paris has many of them. Check out what is on the screen and take your loved one on a journey through arts and emotions in an ultra Parisian style.

Dinner Cruise at the Seine River is one of the top romantic things to do in Paris.

Stroll around the Seine River is a must for any couple that visits Paris, but you can make your experience even more romantic. Book a nice candlelight dinner in one of the boats that cruise the Seine River at night time. Nothing more romantic and kinky than going on a shopping spree for new lingeries. Take him to the best lingerie shops in Paris, try some of the sexiest underwear and show to your partner how much fun you can have in Paris.

  1. My mom, who is no longer alive, and I went to Paris in January of 1994. I fell in love with Paris, in all of France. We spent a few days there, in Versailles, then took a train to Nice which was our home base right on the coast of the Mediterranean Sea. We traveled east and west. So many stories to tell. I want to go back to live as I’m I’ll now and want to be in my favorite place in the world in my last days.

    • Hi Marge,
Sad to hear about your mom, but I’m sure you two had a wonderful time together in France. It’s definitely a special country and Paris a stunning city. Wish you all the best, and I’m sure you gonna go back to France and enjoy it even more!

  2. Hi Natalie,

So my wife and I are planning on a trip to Europe. We travel in love, love in travel and are always looking for place to travel date. Paris has been up there for awhile and I can’t wait to actually go get a picnic basket, fill it with some wine, snacks, and a blanket on a random lawn or park with views of the Eiffel Tower. One day soon enough. This post is great for ideas and the concierge tip is always a good way to start a trip.

    Cheers,
    Mark-Anthony
