Sama-Sama Hotel got in our travel plans in a hurry. Our flight from Bangkok to Koh Phangan had a layover in Kuala Lumpur and we need a place to rest and get ready for our Travel Blogger Retreat [a conference that gathered amazing travel bloggers, and we were one of the speakers].

We couldn´t have chosen a better hotel to stay in. It’s not only perfect for a layover, Sama-Sama is the best hotel to stay if you are traveling to Kuala Lumpur. The hotel has a strategic location, brilliant 5-star service, and all the comfort you can look for. 

Believe me, Sama-Sama Hotel is incredible. I wish we could have stayed there for the whole week. But life is not that perfect, so after a good night of sleep, we left the hotel. However, we had time enough to explore the facilities, to enjoy a delicious breakfast, and collect all the necessary info to recommend the Sama-Sama Hotel for you.

So here goes all the information and features you need to know before booking your stay at Sama-Sama Hotel:

» Type of Accommodation: 5 Stars Hotel

The building is huge and the impressive decoration makes you forget that you just landed at Kuala Lumpur International Airport. The lobby has beautiful flowers, wooden antique furniture, and marble floor. The hotel has 442 luxury guest rooms and suites. All of them clean and comfy with lovely amenities. All the details, everything was so tidy, clean, and pretty. The difference between the rooms is the space, decoration and some details. We stayed in a fabulous suite, the living area was bigger than many studios we rented in Europe and Bangkok. 🙂

At the Sama-Sama Hotel, you also find 3 international restaurants, a lounge bar, convention center, gym, swimming pool, spa, and a few little shops selling Malaysian crafts and arts. The complex is huge, but surprisingly welcoming.

» Location:

Sama-Sama Hotel has a strategic location. The property we stayed in is located in Kuala Lumpur International Airport [terminal 1] landside. The other hotels are called Sama-Sama Express and are located on the connecting flight area, airside. The Sama-Sama Express is really handy for those who don’t want [or can’t] leave the airport departure zone. Sama-Sama Express can be your base for just a few hours or for the whole night, with personalized services and rooms for all types of travelers. Check the Sama-Sama Express KLIA and the Sama-Sama KLIA2.

Depending on which terminal you land, you’ll have two options to reach the Sama-Sama Hotel. If you arrive at the KLIA, right after the customs control you will find the signs leading to the hotel direction. From the terminal 2 you will need to take the KLIA tram that connects the two airports buildings and the central station of Kuala Lumpur. Jump off the tram on the KLIA stop. Outside the tram, in the arriving area, you will spot a buggy and a driver waiting for you. The buggy runs from the terminal to the hotel every 5 minutes.

The location of the hotel is not only good for a layover. Sama-Sama Hotel is great if you are going to visit and enjoy the city. The tram that pass by the hotel also goes to Kuala Lumpur’s central station [30 minutes ride] and from there you can explore the Malaysian capital via public transportation, foot, or by taxi.

The concierge service at the front desk can also help you to organize tours and day trips around the city. Kuala Lumpur has so many things to do that we are thinking to go back there soon, but this time for at least a week or 10 days.

» Comfort:

Sama-Sama Hotel goes beyond comfort. All the details were carefully thought. Pillows in different sizes and shapes, natural soap bars, and bathroom amenities that smells like spa products.

The bed is huge, it could fit four people without a problem. Working desk, sofa, two bathrooms, and an espresso machine. It was hard to leave the room, all you need was there. The plate of tropical fruits waiting for us was the cherry on the cake.

Breakfast is literally a feast. On one side are the Asian dishes, on the other the egg stall [from scrambles to fried eggs, passing by waffles and pancakes]. Fruits, cereals, cakes, and toast… You gonna eat very well for sure! If you don’t want to leave the comfort of your bed, Sama-Sama has room service 24 hours, from breakfast to a romantic dinner.

If you want to pamper yourself and enjoy your stay, Sama-Sama Hotel is perfect! It´s not the cheapest option, but we are talking about a 5 stars experience so it’s worth the money you pay. Also, the service, the amenities, and the location are outstanding.

» Our Impression:

We definitely loved our stay at Sama-Sama Hotel. Not only because of the location and the comfort, because we didn´t feel like staying in an airport hotel during a layover. We are conscious about our travel budget and we always find ways to keep it under control. However once a while we pamper ourselves with a nice stay. Sama-Sama Hotel is perfect for this.

I totally recommend it for couples. It has a romantic feeling in the air, orchids, and beautiful decoration. I totally can see myself there for a third honeymoon. 😉
